This trail covers over 223 miles of the beautiful Ouachita Mountains. From scenic vistas to valley hiking this trail offers it all. Along the way are sites such as Winding Stair Mountain, Queen Wilhelmina State Park, Big Brushy, Blowout Mountain, Ouachita Pinnacle, Flatside Pinnacle, and Pinnacle Mountain State Ozark. Built from 1971-1981 by various Forest Service and State Park programs and young folks. it was the first long-distance hiking trail in this part of the country, and the longest.
